Born to a German mother and French father in St-Germain-en-Laye, Nathanaël Gourdin hails from a family with an affinity to art. An early and enduring enthusiasm for automobile design leads him to study Design with a strong conceptual orientation at the École Régionale des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Étienne, where, following two semesters at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava(Vysoká Škola Výtvarných Umení), he graduates in 1997. In addition to his artistic activities, Nathanaël Gourdin heads the design office Studio Gourdin, which is primarily involved in the planning of interior design and signage at the interface between architecture and graphic design.
